We’re Still Here—and We’re Moving Forward

A new year of advocacy, healing, and support for Black women impacted by endometriosis

A Letter to the Community

Dear Endo Black Community,

As we near the close of this year, I felt it was important to pause and speak to you from a place of vulnerability. Many of you know me as the founder of Endo Black, Inc., an advocate, a resource. But behind the scenes, I am also a full-time professional, a part-time MPH candidate, a sorority girlie, a Morgan Alum, and a Black woman navigating multiple worlds all at once… all while managing a chronic condition that does not ease up when life gets busy.

This year stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. Endometriosis showed up loudly—through pain, nausea, vomiting, brain fog, exhaustion, and fatigue. There were days when getting out of bed seemed impossible.

I want you to know that I struggled.

Not because I am weak, but because endometriosis is real, relentless, and often invisible. And balancing work, school, community, and advocacy while managing this condition is something many of us know too well. We push forward!

Though I’ve been tired, I haven’t forgotten about you. I haven’t forgotten about those who have had sleepless nights because of the endometriosis flare ups or the amounts of money being spent on either temporary reliefs. I haven’t forgotten how some may have to go from doctor to doctor to doctor to find answer and watching life happening around you.

This year, I’m hoping to bring like-minded women together—women who understand that this journey is not just physical, but emotional, mental, financial, and spiritual. Women who deserve support that doesn’t require us to explain ourselves over and over again.

In 2026, we’re committed to approaching endometriosis through a broader lens—one that centers the lived experiences of patients while also bringing together advocates, medical professionals, researchers, and policymakers to create real change. Our goal is to build stronger partnerships that expand access to resources and support, and to invest in the next generation so they won’t have to fight as hard to be seen, believed, and cared for.

We hope you will join us.

Happy New Year,
Lauren Kornegay
